full hearts

thanks for reading, joining us, and supporting this evansville coffee co. endeavor. i have much i'm excited to share with you.

march was a month of deep community work. this time, in both evansville and afar.

  1. the evansville city blend is officially live. we're so very excited to get to participate with our city in such a way.
  2. we took a trip to finca t in honduras that changed us. now, we're getting to connect our city with our producers in such a sweet way.
  3. new brewing class: "seed to sip: experiencing farm to cup," a walk-through of coffee's journey in which we'll roast & then taste coffee from a choice farm across the world.

the evansville city blend arrives

2026 marks the honor of creating three blends with our city: first, the epd & vanderburgh county sheriff department service blends, and now, the evansville city blend.

we had the honor of hosting mayor stephanie terry & her office for a coffee cupping, in which we tasted & decided the official city blend.

this blend has been crafted for the people of evansville: with melt-in-your-mouth cocoa & almond richness, complemented by a hint of strawberry-like sweetness & roasted to a medium, we think you'll love it.

as a celebration of our city, founded in 1812, this blend will henceforth be sold for $18.12 per 12oz bag.

perfect on its own or with cream, perhaps we can make this a staple in the homes of our city.

but... why make it a staple?

that, my friend, is where the story gets good.

made with coffee directly from finca terrerito in honduras, each and every pound roasted supports the livelihood of our partner producers & their community.

every 12oz bag sold of the evansville city blend gives $5 back toward the addition of 8th grade education at finca terrerito, the honduran coffee farm we just visited that built a school for their community.

visiting finca terrerito in copan, honduras
above, the students at finca terrerito posed with our team after having displayed a cultural dance & inviting us to join in another.

visiting finca t this month was better than we could have imagined.

finca t was founded by al lopez just eighteen years ago in copán, honduras. their heartbeat revolves around three core facets: improving lives, sustainable practices, & extraordinary coffee.

i'm here to speak to that heartbeat & those lovely people: last week, we witnessed farmers & family who truly believe in what they do, who serve their community, care for the land they live in, and who make simply incredible coffee.

we just kept saying that our hearts were full, our heads were full (we learned so much), and our bellies were certainly full.

while we may share more soon, i would now just encourage you to check out their site and learn a little more about finca t. we can't say enough.

among the things we admired, finca t has built a school, providing education for around 60 children in their community who would otherwise never attend a school (the next nearest being a 1.5 hour walk)

while there, these kiddos struck a particular chord among us and our ceo, zac parsons, who made it his personal ambition to support this school.

currently, students attending this school are given free education through 7th grade. our goal is to raise the funds to add 8th grade.

this is where it all connects. arriving home from honduras, mayor stephanie terry agreed to support this school by saying yes; yes to donating a portion of each bag of the evansville city blend sold to the school at finca terrerito.

to make things better, this blend is made with honduran coffee; what that means is that on one hand, this blend already supports & partners with finca t by purchasing coffee from their farms. but with your help, we're able to donate back to their school in addition to this support.

our goal is to partner hand-in-hand with these lovely humans we source coffee from, just like it's our goal to partner with you. this feels like a huge step. hope it does to you, too.

as a special note: wholesale partners, this blend can be available to you as well. if you'd have interest in participating or, hey, even just trying some samples to see if this blend could be right for your shop, please let me know. you can reach me at the email below if you don't have it already.

but wait, there's more.

the inspiration goes all around. as we head into our spring round of brew classes, we're offering something exciting and new.

brew class 102, "seed to sip: experiencing farm to cup"

we've known we wanted to change up the brew classes, with the first three months of this year offering brewing 101: "brew methods," where we covered 6 different brewing methods & explored their differences in flavor & practice.

coming back from honduras, the next class came together. or rather, the next experience came together.

we want to offer you a taste of what we experience when visiting our producers—and how coffee makes its way to you through us, your roasters.”

beginning in april (stay tuned on socials!), we'll be offering brewing 102: "seed to sip: experiencing coffee from farm to cup."

each month's experience will feature a unique farm we source from. you'll learn how coffee starts as a seed in a nursery, how it makes its way through pickers' hands & across the world into ours, watch it get roasted in person, and finally, taste it.

i'm so excited for this class.

as a friend from our last class kindly shared, "this is better than the movies!" and i'd like to think that'll be true. this is going to be such a neat experience. hope to see you there!

what's up next?

while we'll have more stories to share next month (there may or may not be a little ghost hunting adventure to talk about...), for now, let's enjoy some good coffee, great stories, & even greater relationships along the way.

what about you? what's new?
our door is always open.

cheers,

- jacob
