Some customers think this coffee tastes like: Dark Chocolate, Vanilla, Dried Fruit
A delightful coffee with strong citric flavors and toffee, scoring 85 by SCAA. Organically grown in volcanic soil at elevations of 1,400-1,600 feet and hand harvested by cooperative members in the central Aceh region of Sumatra.
Gayo Lauser Antara Cooperative was formed in July 2015 with a total of 466 members,399 male and 67 female. As all members adhere to organic practices, the concept of organic farming will continue to be maintained and developed by all farmers and cooperative leaders.
The total combined coffee production area for this coop is roughly 640 hectares. All of the members of Gayo Lauser Antara Cooperative live in the highlands of Jagong and Berawang in the Central Aceh district. Most members are victims of the conflict which was occurred one decade ago in Jagong Jeget.
There is a very strong spirit of “togetherness” among cooperative members. As they are a relatively new group, the Gayo Lauser Antara Cooperative hopes to consistently increase the quality of their coffee by maintaining clean, organic practices and expanding more and more into the international coffee market.
