All of the members of Gayo Lauser Antara Cooperative live in the highlands of Jagong and Berawang in the Central Aceh district. Most members are victims of the conflict which was occurred one decade ago in Jagong Jeget.
The elevation of the region is 1450-1600 masl with volcanic fertile soil. This cooperative was formed due to a strong desire to improve the welfare of members in order to be able to lead a better life. This group strives to produce higher quality coffee as they understand this will directly increase the quality of life for themselves.
There is a very strong spirit of “togetherness” among cooperative members. As they are a relatively new group, the Gayo Lauser Antara Cooperative hopes to consistently increase the quality of their coffee by maintaining clean, organic practices and expanding more and more into the international coffee market.
